HOLISTIC PLACE-BASED FOREST VIEWS
Due to climate change and biodiversity loss, the future management of forests is an urgent matter. Owners of small forest properties don´t often have a say on how to mitigate the environmental damages. However, many of these forest owners have in-depth expertise of both physical and immaterial aspects. And they have profound knowledge on interlinkages between climate change and biodiversity loss. Hence, they have the potential to develop innovative methods for practices, processes and management structures. These can enhance the diversity of habitats, species and varieties. At the same time, these methods are fair, locally accepted and sustainable from a holistic perspective.
